Reply to Any issues after iOS 16.4? by throwaway17273738
Iphone 13 pro max here.. There is a lag in search every time when i launch it, meaning a little bit of delay for keyboard to launch. Tried it on my wife's Iphone 13 too and i see the same behavior. I know this isnt a big deal of a bug, but its a little annoying from user experience standpoint to deal with that lag..

If you have App Store auto update enabled it won’t show the notification.

I already made sure I had the cellular version. Apple had a sale on the refurbished 2nd gen SE today so I jumped on it.

Just be aware that you have to buy the cellular version to work with Family Setup. A lot of people miss that part and get upset when their new watch won’t activate and they have to spend more money and sign up for a watch account with their carrier.

That’s incredibly helpful. My wife and I are both recent Android converts so we’re still learning. Thank you!

Settings>iCloud>iCloud>messages
Make sure it’s toggled on to sync. Anything else you want, like contacts, on the watch should also be turned on.
Here’s a support doc about family setup: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211768

Where would that setting be on the iPad?

Yes, it will have to link it to her Apple ID during setup and then iMessages will work. You’ll have to have messages in the cloud turned on the iPad and the watch for iMessages to sync up.

I was able to get it working. Just have to make the text a bit smaller. Baby steps. Thank you so much.

Set up the watch with same Apple ID and turn on iCloud sync for contacts. Rest should just work 🙂

Apple cares (used to care a lot more) about the real experience of consuming content, Spotify does not. It's as simple as that.
Plus: a sign Spotify doesn't care about real value for their users is the fact that they don't even offer Shortcut support.

this could be an endless discussion... my opinion: i hate ad-driven business models because you smell it in every app this kind of businesses create. and Apple pays attention to detail. Spotify doesn't care about details, at least that was my impression back when i used it.

In addition to what u/regularintelligent63 suggested, iOS did not start encrypting iPhones behind passcodes until iOS 8. Since the 3GS could not be updated beyond iOS 6, it’s possible that you could send the device away for data recovery to be performed on the flash storage itself

It does actually matter, just in the opposite way. Since it uses IR it can get overwhelmed when there’s too much IR, which can happen in direct sunlight depending on the angle between the phone and sun.

Works so well, that I can not understand why wouldn't they add the option to make the home screen pop up right after you unlock it, just like with Touch ID.

Yes, it will work perfectly.
Also, I have been using this method for my three boys since ScreenTime was released. They are the only kids in their school without phones and it’s marvelous.
They instead have this thing we used to call “conversations.”
