You need to look up the technical specs for each model and make sure it works on the bands in your country. For example the 14 Pro Max has two models, A2650 and A2651. You can buy an unlocked phone directly from Apple and then go get a SIM card from a carrier. The carrier never needs to touch your phone. Just get a plan without a contract.

I didn’t buy the phone yet. I just gathered the info. The apple employee says if purchases at the Apple Store, paid in full, activated with carrier, it will be locked for 60 days still.

Thank you! Been trying to figure this out for awhile! Obviously the Bluetooth volume is going to be all the way up when in the car. But the stereo can have it down low to the point it’s super quiet, and I’ll still get this notification. I never listen to my headphones that high anyways, and never get this notification. But in the car it’s constant, and super annoying.

Tip that worked for me: Search on youtube for that speaker sounds that eject water, dip your toothbrush in iso, scrub the speaker, and then put that sound on. Cleans it so good og.

I think your sound system is broken, because I can definitely get eardrum-rupturing audio out of my Prius speakers with my phone at 50% and the stereo cranked to 50+ volume level. Same with my old Escape, as well.

Please don’t do that, especially with older iPhones. The screen gasket degrades with time which results in the phone not being waterproof anymore. Use a damp or dry cloth, that works just fine.

That’s could explain why. I know there is that law that carriers have to unlock the phone but Idk know there was a time limit. Either way it’s BS and is anti consumer.

I agree, the situation is not pleasant, but there is no reason to worry.

I'm sure any good service center will solve this problem in a short time (if the appropriate accessories are available), relatively inexpensive.

Can’t believe nobody mentioned this yet, but buying from reputable refurbished markets such as Swappa doesn’t get carrier locked if you choose the unlocked category.

It’s a terrible policy but Americans wouldn’t really notice this. Many stick with the carrier they choose, but through the carrier, and never notice until if and when they travel.
