What does memory have to do with it? Above 80% and under 20% the battery is more stressed, and you don’t want that.
Why the fuck do you think Samsung added a feature to cut charging the battery above 85%?

IDK why don't you ask Mark Fuckerberg?

Auto brightness won't work either.

It's popping up because iOS 16 is a buggy mess and Apple doesn't seem to care anymore.

Crazy how obsessed folks became once apple started reporting this.

This is factually incorrect.
Lithium ion batteries do not have memory. They degrade based on cycle count and operating temperature.
Discharging from 100% to 0% imparts as much wear as two-half cycles, for example 80% to 30% twice.
Charge your device freely, it will optimize the rest.

Another battery question that could have been searched for in this subreddit with less effort than making this post.
The best way to preserve battery is just keep your phone off and charge to 60% every few months. Stop fucking worrying about it, it’s cheap to replace and likely you will trade it in before it hits less than 80%

Battery optimization is built into the software. You don't have to do anything special.

Rather than listen to "most people", listen to Apple:

No, I wouldn't. I would send it back and order another one, with a original display.

Just use your phone and live. You have a $1000 device, let it do what it does. Stop worrying about dumb stuff like this, your battery is going to degrade no matter what

My iPhone 13 mini I've bought in March this year is at 99% battery health and I don't think about charging at all. No matter if it's at 10% or 40% - if I'm going to sleep, the iPhone is going to be charged. If I'm driving 10 minutes home from the office - the iPhone is going to be charged, I don't care if that's right or wrong.
Stop worrying and just use your phone.

Eventually your capacity will shrink, nothing you can do about it

Just charge it to 100% overnight and quit worrying about battery health. The battery will wear no matter how you use it, and will need replaced at some point as it is a consumable wear item.

Yeah don’t go below 20 and above 80, that’s the rule.
You can go above 80 every once in a while if you need the extra battery for like a whole day out.
It’s better to recharge randomly during the day, like if you’re going out and you have 40% left, just charge a couple of minutes as you get dressed or something, so you’ll have more battery life.
So move between 20 and 80 as much as you want.

I've seen many people state that, and yet I've never cared and never had a problem. The oldest phone in my family is my mothers and her iPhone 8 is 5 years old and has 86% battery health. She charges it overnight every night and sometimes in the day too,
I rarely keep phones longer than 2 years so it's never been an issue for me, but my wife's iPhone 12 bought at release is now on 91% after just over 2 years. Hers is also charged overnight every night.
People tend to get a bit obsessed with battery health, but all batteries will degrade over time, there's nothing you can do to prevent it, and inconveniencing yourself and not getting the full experience out of it seems like more hassle than it's worth to just delay something that's inevitable for a little while.

By comparison, how much is an authentic new iPhone 13 mini? Can't really answer the question without knowing how much you're saving by buying the refurb.
