You make an appointment at the local store, go there and they assess your device to see what they need to replace and make sure your software and hardware is genuine, if everything is good there you leave it with them and they give you a ticket with a return time. You pay the fee and take your repaired device. Usually only takes an hour or so. Same day service anyway.

Lol the exact same thing just happened to me on Friday. I dropped it and back glass shattered just like that.

I had apple care +. I went onto Apple support app and picked my problem. They gave me the option of going to Apple Store for glass replacement for $29 or getting a whole new phone for $99. I picked new phone. They immediately shipped it and I got the new replacement on Monday morning.

I can’t recommend paying for Apple Care enough. It’s so damn good

I went with replacement option for more money because the last time I broke my screen and took it to Apple store , it took over 2 hours to replace and I didn’t like the job they did. You could tell it was replaced and wasn’t very water tight ( I could see bubbles sometimes if screen got wet). I’d rather just have the new phone

They are one of the best for the price. My only gripe is that it doesn’t go as close to the edge as others so there is a visible gap between the screen protector and my case.

Prores video and 48mpx raw pictures will be transfered like x500 times faster if they implement the 3.0 protocol, and you’ll be able to buy any usb-c and apple wont be able to block it of they stop paying any royalty (this at least was an issue with early lightning cables, which will not work after some updates).

The iPhone will become user friendly.
