Yeah if it’s that significant OP’s got an issue with his phone. So many people get through a full day on the Max no problem even two days with 120hz on. Now if OP was talking about the smaller Pro things would make more sense.

What would stop me from using a 6s is the fact that it’s no longer getting security updates. Sure, you’re unlikely to be hit with the nasty stuff unless you’re a person of importance/annoyance to power. But once the cat is out of the bag, typical hackers can start looking into how to do the same. You don’t have to throw your 6s away but I think your overall experience would be better. Even a new battery won’t fix the fact that Apple isn’t going to be sending out (very many) bug and security fixes to your device. At the very least, you could use your 6s at home as a music player or photo album or whatever.

I recently switched to iPhone as well and I will say I find the camera and it’s features to be sucking for sure

Samsung can run circles around the iPhone when it comes to their cameras. I had a tree fall last night and I tried to take some early morning pics. Nope. Take it with no flash and they sucked. Take with a flash and they sucked. Can’t choose night mode and just keep the “shutter open “. With my Samsung I can go into pro mode and adjust all kinds of shit and also the Samsung takes fantastic pics and I can make it use night mode when I want like this morning.

iPhone does take quicker pics but this iPhone 14 pro max really sucks. Don’t get me started about the low end bush league zoom

Lmfao. Sure, it locks to 60hz? Sure sure lol, no comment. Thanks

Maybe learn to READ before you embarrass yourself more?

Apple’s ProMotion displays can dynamically scale the refresh rates from 10Hz to 120Hz to match the task you’re doing. You can save battery life, to some extent, by limiting the display to 60 frames per second from the “Settings” app. Keep in mind that this option doesn’t turn off or disable the ProMotion technology.

It DOES lock to 60hz apple states this themselves. Maybe get off your self inflated high horse and come to the realization your phone HAS a problem. You should get through an entire day of heavy use and easily 2 days if your not using it as much. The 14 Pro Max only goes down to 1hz when the AOD is used.

I gave it some thought, went through a couple things with this new found power, and decided that I will wait until the next time it happens to confirm that that is the issue. In testing the threefinger doubletap (derpderp) seemed to be correct, but I have never noticed the menu that comes up before. Also with the zoom on, I was able to move around the screen a bit whereas before the screen just locks in place which results in me not being able to pull the power off slider far enough or not be able to see it at all, which then was leading to hardware reset. I had tried a bunch of different tap techniques when I first encountered this, but can't recall if three finger double tap was one if them. The next time this takes me by surprise I will be prepared and if it is just zooming and exiting the menu and I don't have to hardware rest my phone I'll get that last 0.1 to /u/stooth64 asap.

Good points about the cameras. I had the base S20, and while It had a great camera, it didn’t benefit from the pixel offerings or the zoom of something like a 22 ultra. So I guess take that into consideration with my comments about that.

I’ve just learned to live with my current homescreen set up. I tried a few options including third party stuff, but it was just a big enough improvement. Shortcuts is a good idea though.

I thought that about CarPlay too, but my wife has had the same issues in her car as well. Different models and manufacturers, so not sure how much of a culprit the actual car is.

Glad we agree about notifications haha. Truly horrendous.
