Reply to Why do you choose iPhone over Android? by f-as-in-frank
When my sister decided to buy me my first smartphone, I was already in my fifties. She did some research, and was told that the iPhone was the easiest for baby boomers like myself to learn and use. So that’s what she got me, and the research was right. I’m now on my third iPhone, and I have no trouble with it. In fact, every member of my family has an iPhone, and I like being able to easily share data between devices. She also got me a cheap Verizon brand tablet at the same time, and even though I’ve since upgraded to a slightly better Samsung tablet, I still have trouble figuring out that damned thing.

Is this the update where they're stripping out the option for always on Air Drop? Can someone who already has it check?
I read that they are disabling Airdrop's recieve from anyone always on for "security reasons" in the next update, but I can already turn it off myself when I want it off (which is most of the time) and I'd rather have the option available to receive random stuff at concerts or gatherings.

This sure is one way to conduct a poll.

I'll use the popularity of this post to encourage people to do what I do: remove the YouTube app and use the web. Your content and ad blockers work that way. Also do this for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Reply to comment by -FancyUsername- in Do I really need a new iPhone when still I love my 6s? by yxcvbna
If someone came up to me and asked if they should update their iPhone 6s, I’d say ‘yes’. And I’d tell them repeatedly that it’s because they are at the very end of support from Apple. I’d praise them for doing a good job of keeping hold of something for a long time and getting all the value out of it. But ultimately, no matter how much they love it, it’s needs to be replaced.
This goes for Android devices as well. While I’m not as up to date on how fragmented their updates are now, if they aren’t getting support for much longer, it’s time to go.
EDIT: That the original poster ALREADY bought the mini 12 further illustrates my point. They know it’s time.

Fair question. I've seen some comments from older model owners that they lost features they liked having when updating to 16.x. particularly missed was something about how the lock screen displays the time/date and notifications.

Reply to Hello everyone, broke my 14 pro. Instantly had apple care+. Can someone guide me? by [deleted]
Hi, I don't want to poo poo this whole insurance claim, but I believe Apple can determine when the phone was damaged. I believe that the iPhone logs a hard impact. I may be wrong, but this could have a detrimental effect on your claim. I mean, the worse they'll say is 'no we can't replace your phone as you took out Apple care after it was damaged'.

I doubt it. Negative press usually has the opposite effect of what people think. Trump unfortunately won 2016 with negative press. Just made him more popular. Let’s not commit the same mistake. If we stop mentioning these things popularity will plummet.

Seeing as Musk is known for saying things and then being completely wrong, and then being dragged before the SEC and fined for it....yea, Twitter is on the chopping block.

Funny cause I was having this issue since 16.1 and 16.1.1 (which I updated to last night, and now 16.1.2 is here fml) solved it.
Will wait for 16.2 though
