Yeah I’m from the uk. But I bought the phone at a reduced price as when I got it I think it was on 80%~ battery health if apple are likely to support my phone for another year or 2 might get the battery changed

At this point I usually upgrade. Upgrade to a Pro model. Even if you can’t get the 14 series, get the 13. It will last you get you another 3-4 years of great user experience.

I’d get a new battery. Especially when when you live in colder climates since cold has a big impact on your battery. You want to avoid sudden shutdowns

The Dark Sky Modular Apple Watch complication has not been matched by Weather - shows High, Low, Current Temps & Conditions AND Sunrise/Sunset. Really hoping this gets ported over.

Otter box just had the 5,000 mah MagSafe power bank with pass thru charging on sale at Verizon for $35 instead of $70. I got one. Love it.

I have an ESR 10000mAh Power bank. One important thing I’ll stress to you is make sure you ask is it MagSafe compliant? Not MagSafe compatible. Is it actually Apple MFI certified because if it’s not (like mine) it will only charge an iPhone at 7.5w wirelessly as opposed to 15w. It’s tricky because you read the specs and it says 18w capable but that’s Android charging.

Well, iOS just use all the available memory, but that’s okay, it just allows the apps to have access to all.
You can open the app and look under processor, it will say thermal state. It can show you whether it keeps getting hot as you experienced.

Hey, I just installed it and the widget and I am getting good insights. It seems that the CPU isn’t the main problem, but actually it’s the memory. It’s always sitting above 97% usage. Any tips if there is something in the device that is ramping it up?
As I just freed a lot of storage usage now, I am going to test it a little bit more this way to see if I see any improvement. Tomorrow if I don’t see benefits I’m going to turn some things off (my widgets, the earth wallpaper that has my location on most of the time, etc).
Photo of memory usage

Wonderful! I also deleted a bunch of files as someone states that maybe my device was on load indexing everything (made sense for some apps). Gonna see if it works!

Try this to see whether the cpu is actually running 100% all the time

It also states the thermal condition.
It will give you an idea whether it is running maximum all the time.
If you have an iCloud backup, as a last resort I would just reset the device and try to restore from iCloud. Maybe an app that is acting weird.

Hmm maybe that makes sense? If I delete most of my storage would it help? I’ll do an experiment

I just bought this. Yes it’s overkill but it’s awesome:
Drop.com has it for $169.

I have the MagSafe battery pack and do note that’s it’s not for handling multiple charges, but more for ‘emergency’ use to top up your phone’s batt sufficiently enough for you to get to a proper charger. It only has over 1000mAh capacity.
My main battery pack is a Mophie Powerstation 3XL with 26000mAh, more than enough juice for multiple charges.

Wtf? Iphone x is supported what are you talking about? Or maybe you are just sarcastic

Get a new phone. That is literally your only option at this point. Why would you be using an unsupported phone now?

You could spend $70 on a new battery and get another year at least, with much better performance than you are seeing now. It doesn't matter that settings says "peak performance". It's not.
I expect that the XR will get iOS 17, but probably not 18. You'll still get critical security updates for 17 during that next year. Hopefully the rumored 2024 SE which appears to be an XR clone will be out by then.
I've said I was going to replace my XR for the past 2 years, but I'm still holding on to it. I still get 5-6 hours of battery on a full charge. I rarely go longer than that without being around a charger, so it's been pretty manageable.
