I'm pretty sure haus25, a 57 story sky scraper that has now been functional for a while, was a parking lot when I first saw the sign that that whole foods was coming soon.

Or maybe it was a grass field. It's so long ago I don't remember exactly.

Yea. I’m not sure what the strategy is. Presumably they’re going to salt the crap out of bridges and places that will freeze first then backtrack on the rest.

I honestly can’t recall last time this scenario played out. It’s normally rain or snow. Rain turning to ice at this scale is uncommon.

Because of the way the tunnel twists and turns and is like 150 years old in places I don't think more speed is possible. But the PA should restore the direct weekend daytime service on JSQ-33 and HOB-WTC that they took away in 2006 for "WTC Construction" and then never brought back, hoping everyone would forget that it was heavily used.

This was really well explained. I didn’t even think about the salting while it’s raining; and the risk of the salt just being washed away if they salt while it’s still raining.

I also don’t know how they plan to salt the roads when the temperature is forecast to drop so quickly in a shorter period of time. I’d guess that they need a lot more widespread salting early on when the temperature drops below 15 F than if it were to drop below like 30 F.
