We all should have been enjoying live entertainment for the last 8 years and  most likely a  quicker comeback of Journal Square with new restaurants, bars, shops, etc.

AEG Live, one of the globe's largest concert promoters, is set to win a contract to take over management of the Landmark Loew's Jersey Theatre in Jersey City, and the firm pledges to bring "top talent" to the Journal Square theater.

“Mark Shulman, AEG's vice president and general manager, said the firm hopes to make the Loew's "a hub for the entire area." Programming should begin in late 2015, after renovations are complete, according to Schulman.”
….
AEG, which will partner with New Jersey City University and Mana Contemporary to offer 40 community events annually.

I always wanted to ask- what happens if you stay on an out of train service at JSQ? Sometimes they shut those doors mad fast and although I haven’t fallen asleep on a train in a while (ugh ended up in Babylon once on the lirr) I was curious 😊

for clarification, downtown consists of many neighborhoods: Hamilton Park, Harsimus Cove, Paulus Hook, the Village, Powerhouse, and Van Vorst Park (plus a few more fringe blocks). Also Newport is considered part of Downtown.

Your best bet will be to look at sites like Zillow, or using a local agent like Del Forno or Howard Hanna. In NJ, unlike other places, realtors also work as renting agents. You will need to browse listings, don't rely on them to do it for you, but their websites will be useful. Everything you are mentioning (from Newport proper to Revetment House, which by the way is owned by Newport) are major corporate landlords and the prices are going to be reflective of this.

Also fyi renting is a landlord's market right now. There are literally bidding wars over apartments, with people offering more than advertised to be selected as the tenant. At least that was the case earlier in 2022, maybe it has changed. Ask a realtor about the status on that. Certainly putting in an application on a unit does not mean you will be the "winning" tenant.

Wow! A few years ago, they used to have signs/plaques that they would tape to the obelisks, at least at night.

And then sometimes they would tape the sign to the wrong obelisk, and people would run down the stairs to catch the train at 2:50AM and arrive at an empty platform, miss their train and have to wait 35 minutes for the next train. PATH memories . . .
