Bro get a personality out side of being a mechanic on cars and I promise you, you lead a happier life. It’s so sad seeing you try over and over again to insult other people who don’t cum to the thought of driving 100mph in a 60mph zone and getting 7mpg. Your “fat girlfriend in a Prius” and “npc” jokes are just sad attempts at lashing out to random people who don’t agree with you and it’s weak. Find more interesting things and better come-backs. Here’s an example for you;

Do you work on old beaters so much you accidentally get exposed to leaded gas? Or do you just like huffing the stuff?

That's the one on 6th and Monmouth? When they started that it was being built like a fortress, with the whole frame being cinderblock and steel under those fake bricks and wood. But it's been like this for what seems like years now, so perhaps the developer went bankrupt or something happened, because now it's just being left to rot.

Granted if I was buy something I'd go for this over the one they built on the 7th street corner, which went up in about 3 weeks and looked to be made of balsa wood.

That developer (7th street) probably skimped badly all around, but then sold at the right time and made a mint off people who didn't know what they were getting, while this developer looked like they were trying to build something good, and then had to slap cheap cladding on the outside to sell it before going belly up.

This is surprising and I'm sorry to hear it. By forced video visits, do you mean telehealth appointments? I have had numerous telehealth appointments and I do not think my care has been compromised. When I've had to go in, they've made in-person appointments.

I really like my PCP there and I don't feel like I get the brush off; I feel like the reality of managed care is that the PCP will often refer you to a specialist because they can't do everything.

I know this isn't going to be a popular opinion in this forum, but.... I'm a gay man, and I've lived in all three places you've mentioned, although I've been in JC since 2012 (I'm 45). I am emotionally attached to Jersey City, it is a gay-friendly town, there are lots of gay people here in JC of all ages, and the community is very supportive. However, if I were in your position and given how old you two are, especially if you are going to be living in NYC area for the first time, I would opt to live in Manhattan for a year or two, even if it were a 1-BR shoebox in a 5th floor walk-up. After that experience, you two can decide to move out to JC or BK but I don't think you'd regret or ought to skip living in Manhattan, even if it's a short time.

Hi! I recently bought a place in JSQ by India Square and can concur the area generally feels quite safe, and the walk to JSQ PATH is short and convenient. I had the same dilemma a couple months ago before getting a place, and didn't find much friendly help on here so glad I'm seeing some nice responses!

My opinion as a mid 20 female:

  • Not too much to do at night but there's more and more luxury apts being built, meaning more nice retail storefronts and cafes. -No big nice park yet besides maybe small ones by Canco Loft or other buildings. Nice park is to be built though where the old courthouse building stands. -Lack of gym choices in immediate neighborhood besides Blink but short distance to other gyms I guess. Hoping something will pop up with this redevelopment
  • Supermarket variety is scattered. Hoping more is added as 1 JSQ builds up. We know a Target is oncoming.
  • Roommates and private rooms as well as older houses are definitely plenty here, so don't limit yourself to luxury apartments!
  • Good food though, especially Indian. Also quick drive up to the Heights for good food there :) I found my fave Chinese spot for authentic spicy Chinese food is Linglongxuan.

Overall JSQ is pretty safe around India Sq, and there are many smaller luxury apartments available there as well as more affordable options in older houses and with roommates or private rooms. Transportation proximity is a huge advantage. Night life in immediate neighborhood, not so much. Parks and gyms, not YET. Retail? On the up. More and more new things show up as the months pass, so I have no doubt we'll be seeing more options in the area and around the path station.
