There's a person asked it last month: https://www.reddit.com/r/jerseycity/comments/zggojs/insights_on_buildings_near_lsp_121_garabrant_295j/

Neighbourhood is fine. It's strictly residential because there's no store or anything in the immediate area, yet. You will be safe walking around late night from the light rail. I would just not venture North past Monitor street.

The light rail won't be your problem, the freight train will be as you are right by the freight track. The train comes multiple time a day and you will hear it rumbles. There're multiple new developments--262 Johnston tower completing in the summer and Foundry Loft - Phase 3 (just started putting in foundation) that will add more upscale housing to the neighborhood. It's only going to improve. The best part about this area is easy access to Liberty State Park and 10 miles of breathtaking river run loop stretching all the way towards Port Liberte.

The municipal parking lot is very well lit (too well, it's bright as day) and is patrolled 24/7.

You should look at 295J and the Ashton nearby as well, very well managed buildings. Foundry Lofts are condos but they might have owners renting out.

I can see the thread just fine. Do the posts show up as "unavailable"? You probably got "blocked", and should be able to see the thread in a private tab (...which makes no sense, and the blocker can still read your posts, they are just collapsed. If anyone blocks me, I take the effort to block them right back for mutual thread breakage)

Regarding actual deleted posts, unfortunately I think it's just how Reddit works. There's a site that tries to archive them (but removes user-deleted comments): https://www.reveddit.com/r/jerseycity/

Heres another one that keeps deleted comments (but doesn't have a post listing): https://www.unddit.com/r/jerseycity/comments/1005wsy/sos_where_to_find_yerba_mate/

My understanding is that in JC, if you have a legal driveway that is blocked, you can call PA to ticket the vehicle. Subsequent to that, if your vehicle is blocked in the driveway, PA will call a tow for the offending vehicle. If you're trying to get into your driveway, they won't tow.

Source: neighbors with driveways who've done this (happily I haven't had this happen with my own driveway).

I know, right? Their $27 chicken breast entree with half a cup of potato purée is very underwhelming compared to what you get for roughly the same $ at a similar restaurant like Mathew’s.

I’m guessing that dish would be $30+ with the typical airport upcharge.

Could be money laundering or they're living off sold liquor license money. Not a bar anymore: https://jerseydigs.com/former-indios-place-liquor-license-transferred-harborside/

Reviews sound like unlike my fur, they are not so black-and-white when it comes to what they charge. Here's one:

>This place has so many hidden fees that they claim is on the menu but isn't. Byob charge, huge extra charge in addition to the extra price for the fruit head. They do a hookah per 2 person min, which is fine except they never took the order of the last couple and tried to charge for them + another hookah. And to top it off, they over charged the tip we gave them.tldr; 'ice' fee, 'fruit' fee, min 2 hookah per person, they charged extra tip

Sometimes people come into some money, plow it into a business, and then find out they are bad at it.

I'd volunteer to go stand under it until a brick lands on my head but I doubt there's even much recourse, gotta be some funky legal limbo allowing it to sit and decay like that. Hopefully enough of the facade falls off that they're forced to redo the design and not have half the bricks in a running bond pattern and half just straight stacked. gif

Neighborhood is safe via being mostly empty. Some nice cafes and restaurants and what not but in my opinion the neighborhood has not hit the critical mass of Downtown, JSQ, The Heights, etc to be considered lively or have any practical in-neighborhood grocery option. Thus quietness might be good depending on what you want. I wouldnt take a walk next to the abandoned warehouse casually at 3am because sometimes there are odd characters there. But unlikely you'd be doing that.

The light rail lot is monitored 24/7 by security so it's perfectly safe.

Be aware the frieght train is many times louder than the light rail. Check if the unit youre looking at is next to the freight tracks and if so avoid being the same level.

No idea on utilities, it's up to your usage but it will be around minimum $20.
