This is something I wish the apps cracked down on. I used to deliver for some extra cash during the pandemic. It’s a big problem in NYC, often times I would walk into a deli or corner bodega and see they have like 6 or 7 iPads behind the counter all pretending to be a different restaurant on a delivery app. They put the restaurant on the app multiple times as a way to try and game the algorithm. They should really only permit one restaurant per address.

S&S did a sloppy job on some roof repairs for our building. We recently redid the whole flat roof and went with Baran. They took the roof down 6 or more (I don’t remember) layers, did some repairs to the deck and then relayed. They were efficient and broadly well done. We chose them over capitol after having both come and quote.

The only local (downtown) bagel I really trust at this point is Wonder Bagels on Jersey Ave and Columbus

Anyone have alt suggestions for GOOD "real" bagels in the same area (or Paulus Hook even)

Also, a new place called City Bagel is opening on Grove St. at some point "soon" -- hope their bagels are good

If you have a car and are familiar w Bayonne. Check out everything bagels. It's on 22nd st on the way towards Walmart. They got the right idea, at least by the fancies of a local jew-ish dood. Haven't tried their lox if they have but they have a better deal than ShopRite on day old dozens. Two bucks. At ShopRite it's 3.50

I chose Imperial/Mike out of 3 contractors to do a new roof last year and was satisfied with the price and process. However, we had talked about potential but non-critical repairs on some roof-adjacent parts, and when I followed up after winter, it was back and forth for months trying to get an appointment, having it scheduled and missed and "we'll try to stop by" and "we'll get back to you" and my following up multiple times. They might have been booked up with other more desirable work and didn't want to take it on. I would have appreciated them being up front with that instead of leaving me with a negative impression of the business/service.

Something I wish I had personally researched better was the fact that new roof installation can be tax exempt: https://www.nj.gov/treasury/taxation/sales_use_tax_FAQ.shtml

The simit (not really a bagel but they market it as a Turkish version) plate and coffee at Dream Vista are solid (cannot speak to the specialty lattes because they’re just not for me). The spinach borek and other pastries are great too.
