Isn't this person one of the folks who ran on eliminating the county line & modernizing Hudson county elections? I'm trying to recall, and googling that is a blur

Which is totally valid though I doubt there isn't a conflict on interest in Essex County either given her family.

Reply to Volunteering opportunities in Jersey City by boredaf_boi
i think a better question might be considering what type of volunteering you'd like to do?
the library has GED tutoring programs for example. the local parks have cleanup and gardening work. there are soup kitchens here (the work is mostly unloading / unpacking etc). someone recently posted about playing piano at hospitals. there's enough dog poop that can be it's own job...
just some ideas, but you might already know which skill you'd like to offer

I wonder how the cyclist running the red light will impact things here. They seem to be separate issues (and really shows how stupid it was of her to leave as she'd likely get off scott-free as the cyclist did clearly run the light).

What’s all this nonsense about a trial? She got 2 summonses for traffic violations… There’s no way on earth she’ll claim that she didn’t hit the cyclist, she could only offer a defense of why she didn’t stop…

Why all of this theater? $500 fine is sufficient.

Should have had it in Cape May County if they're worried about conflicts of interest.

they removed it to Essex because there's a clear conflict of interest with the Hudson County prosecutors office

One would assume so. The next question I have is why is it in Essex county, when the offense was in Hudson?

I didn't know there were 'pre-trial hearings on the status of discovery evidence' for misdemeanors, most of us mortals just show up and get ground up. Do you think it means they are trying to get the videos excluded from evidence?

Yeah. Who the hell voted for Rob Menendez? The same people will presumably be turning out in droves for another machine politician.

Any plans to expand West Side's hours? Right now it closes at 5pm, while other branches are open to 6 or 8pm.

Def use the app. Once you find the bus that takes you where you need to go and if that destination is something you'll be going to often (like work or school or grocery store), you can Favorite that bus and it's easier to look up their schedule that way. Also, I pair it texting NJ Transit when I get to my stop. Each stop has its own identifying number. Look on the sign and you text the number with the bus stop number and it will tell you what buses will be heading there in the next hour. Handy for when the buses inevitably are running late.

Oh man it's about time they increased the 119. That line is always packed from Port Authority.

If they’re going by the law it’s irrelevant.
Every vehicle operator has a legal obligation to prevent collisions. There’s no exceptions for other drivers mistakes, weather etc.
You’re not in less trouble because there was ice on the road either. You’re still responsible for the collision.
You have an obligation to not operate the vehicle in a way that these external factors can be a problem.
