I would see if you can get a consult with an orthopedic specialist. Ask your primary for a referral, your insurance should cover it. You may need a bunionectomy. A medical condition that may be covered as you may need to be in the hospital for a day.
Orthopedic shoes made to accommodate bunions can be very expensive. Plus, they are ugly.

Thanks for sharing, I am trying to avoid surgery as long as I can, hopefully podiatrist will be able to help.
