Yes we are married. We just received the employer sponsored insurance cards yesterday but since it will start on 1/1/23, I have access to nothing and feel like nothing is guaranteed.

Health Connector said I only have until 12/23 to adjust my current plan. With the insurance cards I just received, will it be ok to cancel my health connector now?

Do my parner need to update that he has employer sponsor insurance to Mass Health too?

Thank you

You should both be on one application and updating everything all at once, income and employer sponsored insurance. Yes, you should cancel before 12/23.

Yes for the employer sponsored insurance , we were on the same application and updated them with most up to dated info on our incomes.

I'll call health connector to cancel but like you said , it won't affect my partner's masshealth and we can just leave it as it is right? Thank you so much

Does your spouse have MassHealth based on disability or based on income? If the former, he can likely keep his MassHealth but if he is now covered under your employer sponsored plan, MassHealth will become secondary and will cover things like the deductible and co-pay for the primary insurance. And yes he does need to let MassHealth know he now has private primary insurance.

Thank you so much. It was based on his income . But I will look into that
