Why do I suspect they just replaced one problem with another.

Unless it has an open protocol and they hold the encryption keys and it's been audited that the whole thing doesn't tie back to a cert with looming expiration, that's an unwarranted belief.
Probably would have made more sense to have someone figure out a way into the system that was already deployed, rather than go around installing new boxes all over the school, only to find out that they don't have real control over those, either.

I grew up in Western NY and now live in MA, and no. They are not the same. If, by "upstate," you mean the capital district, that might be a different thing. I haven't spent enough time in Albany's immediate environs to know what it's like.

Early on (pre revolution), Connecticut extended to the Hudson. There was some treaty that brought the line east to where it is now.

Minnechaug Class of '99 here. I went to school in the old building, which was built in 1954. Not relevant at all.
Too bad the article doesn't state what thee monthly electric bill was--because I am curious, although I can see how the figure could lead to the increasing chance of some asshat making death threats to a town councilor, or superintendent.

I feel the same way in Central MA, I remember playing in 6" of snow on Thanksgiving morning one year. But, that could also be me remembering a specific single storm and then sort of applying that to "every year of my childhood" type thing too.

Why did Constantinople get the works? That's nobody's business but the Turks.

What doesn't quite add up for me is he was so clumsy as to be searching google for how to dispose of a body; yet they can't find her.
I would think someone that dumb wouldn't do that good of job actually disposing of her.

My guess is the Hudson River valley historically was a pretty substantial geographical barrier. It pretty much follows the Western edge of New England.
