That’s just how this entire society of broken capitalism is structured

Maybe if we paid people more than slave wages things would be better

But nope, gotta pay for the wealthy’s yachts and jets, and put up with people and their sniveling bootstraps brainrot of rugged individualism for the poor and govt welfare for the wealthy

Look at all that downvote rage from the miserable people in central and western Ma who have pitted themselves against eachother just because the wealthy milked them. Just so angry that they can’t afford their lives and have descended into a vicious rat race

At least the wealthy people have generators amirite

Those other people will get their power when the for profit utility company with absolutely no obligation to its community’s well-being feels like it

10 years ago the average price for a divorce was around $100K in legal fees. And the result of spending all that dough was within 5% of the initial proposals. Today, I’m guessing it’s higher; maybe $120K. This is the average and given what you said, your situation is above average, but not in a good way. So, a wild guess is this will cost you and your soon to be ex, $150K to $200K. So, essentially, you’ll get to pay for a good chunk of the college fees for the kids of your lawyers… and get almost nuthin out of it.

If you both can easily afford this without financially impacting the kids, find your shark and knock yourselves out. However (and I know this is easy for me to say), if this has a significant impact, is there any chance you can sit with your spouse, show him or her the numbers and what they’ll mean to your lifestyles and those of your kids, and try mediation.

With mediation, the costs are dramatically lower; probably under 10K and the mediator is not incented to drag out the fight. Also, I’ve heard they’re skilled in defusing emotions.

And I’m fully aware that some couples are so dug in or one side has become so evil that you have to use sharks. But I know that your odds of avoiding this massive bill and getting thru the divorce with some sanity and more secure kids, increase if you have this conversation before getting the sharks involved. After that, it’s like two freight trains heading for each other and it’s hard to change course.

I'll trade you 100 regular headache for a single migraine. I'll get a visual auro effect as the first symptom in getting a migraine, if my timing is right and my dose is adequate and depending how bad the migraine is... I'll have a mild trip vs having a debilitating migraine.

A step further, migraines and tripping effect my body similarly. Both effects my vision, both make my head and body feel weird. Both can last multiple hours. If you have ever had a bad trip it's basically the same thing as a migraine. During a bad trip you feel sick, headache, puke, nausea, all the same shit happens to me during a migraine.

Here’s the deal with self checkout @ SS

If you have a cart - this is not meant for you

Scan, then place all items on the unit BEFORE bagging - There’s a rhythm Scan then Place - Absolutely don’t bag before all items are in said unit.

It’s not that hard, they should give better [any] directions.

I buy blueberries and blackberries from Stop & Shop all the time, and more often than not, I am able to spot a few moldy fruits buried at the bottom of the plastic container. This is why I always inspect the containers from all angles. If there is visual evidence of mold, then I will avoid all adjacent containers or that type of fruit altogether. In a way, their inconsistent quality has pushed me to explore new types of fruits I wouldn’t have otherwise tried.

One time, a bag of almonds (Stop & Shop brand) I bought had evidence of some type of bug infestation. The almonds had unusual holes (as if something bored into it). Cracking it open, I found fluffy, cobweb-like substances inside. Threw out the entire bag, and now I will only buy their almonds if they are stored in see-through containers, so I can do a careful inspection before purchasing.

I also stopped buying their store-brand chicken. Had to throw out an entire tray of chicken breast one time because it was rancid. For a poor student, discarding an entire tray of chicken breast is a huge blow to not only my wallet but also to my nutrition and overall morale that week.

Not the first time that's happened. In January 2011 or 2012 I was on that hill for night skiing when the power went out around 7PM. People were skiing down the mountain and suddenly were plunged into darkness, people were stuck on the lifts for maybe an hour? My friends and I hiked up Indian Summer by the Monadnock lift and road down in the dark. Wildest sensation I've ever felt.
