It’s crazy due to the old indurstries there property values can be kind of low but they have really good municipal services including cheap symmetrical gigabit broadband.
Besides houses being really close to the street in the central parts it is home to 2 specific dangerous places to be a pedestrian, Chicopee Center, and the Walmart parking lot.
They’re also both right off of 391 and the pike.

Presumably mattress disposal was prohibited based on its dangers to the environment, which we all share. So a community could choose to use public funds to fund their recycling.
Would you prefer an analogy regarding a public park? We all pay for it because it is there for the benefit of us all. And, while some narrow-minded individuals could say, "I have a yard at my house, why should I pay for that", it still isn't a good argument against it.

It's a bridge. Most people going over them are pissed they are stuck in traffic not admiring the style of the bridge. Ask people if they want to pay $2 for a steel box beam or $4 for a truss what answer will you get? Form follows function and cost trumps all. We paid $100MM extra for the "glory" of a grand bridge for the artery project to cross an 80' river. Now everyone on here complains daily about the poor condition of the MBTA. $100 million fixes a lot of track problems. Spend wisely and you will find things working better.

Have you ever walked around Chicopee?

There is a train from South Station to the Cape.
In the summer. hrm.

It’s VERY popular. They first ran a trial, it was so popular they added tons more cars and departures, then made it permanent. It runs behind my folks’ house.

I've gotten called at least 5x in the past 10 years and have never had to appear. I did have to appear once back in 2009 and was dismissed before lunch.

Your judicial district doesn't mean the court closest to you. You can be called to appear in any court in your county.

This is a stupid argument. That fire puts others in danger.
My house leaks water. That water creates black mold. Should the public have to pay to have that drywall removed and disposed of?

This is a problem only for the tourists. Locals can use the tunnel after applying for the permit.

I would love to pay someone to bring an old king size mattress I have to a recycling center. Even before the new rules went into affect I had contacted a few companies that advertise the service, but they werent in my town and I couldnt even get a quote for the job. There is no recycling center anywhere near south eastern MA where I live for them to bring it to. The mattress is taking up a huge amount of space leaning against a wall in a room that is barely big enough to hold it. I want to downsize and may have to sell my house "as is, mattress must stay" the way things are going.

Huh. Brockton is where I feel the most unsafe as a pedestrian over any other place I have been. It is strange how people seem more safe impulsively stepping into the street than those using crosswalks with walk signals.

The stories that come out of that town are wild, like the school superintendent who blackmailed a cop.
They have a very nice library though.
