Not here on the Upper Cape. The coldest I saw last night was 0°F (wasn't paying too much attention tho, maybe it got a bit colder). I think it was 5-6 years ago we hit -10°F at least once and had more cold days overall.

-23 is crazy though! I'm always amazed how different it can be in other parts of Mass.

exactly. right now there is such a shortage of teachers, people can move around to other districts that pay better, etc. I've been teaching for a good amount of time and I have never seen the turn over I am seeing right now. veteran teachers leaving for better districts, young teachers quitting mid year leaving the profession completely and so forth.

as for the paras, their pay is a joke. we have had one para positions for a few years. the pay they get is just horrible. sadly a lot of the open para positions are in sped rooms, so some of our neediest kids aren't getting what they need.

Have you called the folks who deliver the oil? Don’t most of them also service the burners? They’d at least have an emergency operator who could presumably refer you to their recommended repair company
