Which they do regardless of fines or threats from police. The laws are wag your finger bullshit in the face of striking.
Here, go do some reading: https://malegislature.gov/Bills/192/H1946/BillHistory

They had about a million and a quarter but they need more. In the next couple years she needs a real hull inspection. She's getting rough below the waterline.

I thought it was resident advisor (i realize this isn't very important to correct).

No mention of what the weapon was (a cellphone maybe?) But they do note that she posed no danger but still they feared for their lives? Where are they finding these pathetic cowards to be cops anyways? Afraid of fucking anything and everyone

We went last year and it looked good to us, but with kids we were zipping everywhere. They were doing renovations when we were there

Battleship cove is the world’s largest collection of Naval Vessels. It’s not as big as that title, but pretty cool it’s right in Fall River

I was just down in Battleship Cove last night, first time in at least 40 years. This is very timely post, thanks for sharing.

Right, and that's why having the ability to strike is so important. It forces the municipalities to negotiate in good faith. Because, as recent evidence suggests, municipalities don't need to argue in good faith.

And every so often a bill gets introduced to overturn it, yet it gets killed, but I'm sure you totally knew that already.
That sadly isn't funny, just uniformed like usual.

And unions are still subject to massive fines, and police action, if they choose to strike. Funny that.

She's in tough shape and running out of money last I heard. Was there when they blew up the stacks in Somerset and she could have used some love.

I go to a smaller university, and it’s strange they will report when students pass away from heart attacks or natural causes, but when one of our students takes their life (whether that be on campus or at home), very rarely is a school-wide email sent notifying us.
I can’t get accommodations in college without jumping through a hundred loops and filling out a six pound packet even though I had a 504 plan in high school, and have endless documentation for my ADHD induced by PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder, and OCD. At that point I gave up.
For a student considering taking their life, the last thing they’re doing is jumping through hoops and taking the time to fill out that much information. If our college was the size of WPI, our rates would be on par with theirs which is sad considering how much smaller of a school we are. I apologize for the rant, it just pisses me off.

You should know, that the moderators can see the post you delete.
I bring it up because 1) many people reported your post. 2) because we have a few people who wrongfully think if they delete it later, there will be no consequences.
I am going to leave things "as is" for now. Because, sure, you took care of it yourself. But next time, what you say and do, is going to matter.

Until I was in my 40's and went there as a parent escort for a Scout Trip I always thought that those huge turrets with the large 16 inch guns just sort of "sat on top of the deck". I thought they sat on a kind of turntable and they brought the ammo and powder to them as needed.
Never realized that they were large multi deck structures that go deep into the hull and that the whole thing rotates. You cannot even see most of what rotates as it is inside the ship. Still amazed how they got the shells and the bags of gunpowder from the magazine (where you certainly dont want them to explode) up to the guns.

Horrible situation, especially for the relative who called the police thinking they'd be able to help. I hope they find peace.

We went with my brother’s troop one winter…big. mistake. The heaters, were not quiet, neither were the 3-4 other boy scout troops who we were sharing the bunk space with, on top of the whole space smelling pungently of diesel. Suffice it to say, while touring the ship was entertaining, the experience of sleeping (or trying to sleep) on this behemoth in the winter - would not recommend. (-5/10)

Thank you for saying this. Mental health crises on college campuses remains a serious concern. I myself like many others have lost friends to the tragedy of suicide and one of those tragedies occurred in a dorm environment. The demand for performance, social isolation within crowds, lack of academic support, bleak living conditions, and absence of substantive emotional connection or uplifting community relationships is traumatic for students at any stage in their academic careers. In the last 10 years, there have been 14 suicides at just one local college campus, with no publication due to "privacy concerns."
