>The biblical commandment to not take the lord’s name in vain applies only to the people who follow the Bible’s teachings. It’s their commandment, no one else’s. And it’s not even close to a swear in colloquial terms. It’s just an expression of surprise, and an extremely common one at that.

The most annoying part is that's not what "taking the lord's name in vain" even means. It absolutely doesn't mean to never use the lord's name. It very specifically means not to use the lord's name as justification for doing something that is against the teachings of the lord.

Just another example of Christians having absolutely no understanding of their own religion and making it everyone else's problem.

They are busy stonewalling any police reform that was passed from actually taking hold and blackmailing the next governor into allowing their next money making scheme, which is probably not hiring, then saying nobody wants to enter the profession, then asking for grants to promote and hire more people, then just dividing the money among themselves somehow..

To be fair to those who are trying to lose weight, sometimes it is NOT the lack of exercise. Sometimes medication that a person is on puts weight on a person. A person could also be hypothyroid which would prevent them from losing weight even with exercise.

I didn’t know that about their anal glands. Lol.

Yes I’m fascinated by them. They operate as true families, stay mates for life and the fathers help raise the kits to become productive dam building adults.

Their dams and ponds create ecosystems for hundreds of other species to cohabitate. The ponds create gardens in literal deserts, essential for irrigation of land and life.

They also act as carbon sinks, filtering out water and potentially help combat climate change. The storage of essential water helps immensely with droughts to the benefit of all wildlife and even human settlements.

I’m obsessed, they are also cute as fuck especially the babies, and yeah parachuting beavers really sent me lmao

I’m in the Merrimack Valley. Posted for my spare bedroom in my condo, had two calls in a few hours and one of those callers took it the next day! Mostly families out here. The Lowell area has students looking for roommates, but you’re probably going to get party central.

I did some more research and found a map of regions on mass.gov. As far as I can tell, the area in question is divided between Southeast (which includes Cape Cod and the islands) and Metro West, which is confusingly east of the central and western regions.

I guess the question is, does that area have any cohesive characteristic of its own? People talk about the Cape, and Western Mass, and greater Boston. But people don't seem to talk about that area, which I am awfully glad no one has yet called "the armpit" due to its position on the map.

you caught me! that is funny you are on that sub- yes i was inspired by your post

there is a great book called The Truth about Animals by Lucy Cooke (and of course, I lent it to someone and never saw it again) the chapter on beavers was unbelievable, and i was trying to recall what it was that was so astonishing.

Aside from their anal glands smelling like vanilla, there was something about their social structure that was mind-blowing, and I was looking to see if I could find it somewhere. but instead, i got beaver parachuting
