It was tiny light bulbs at the bottom, controlled by stepping relays.

We got a discount because it doesn’t tell the right time.
“Kids! Time for bed! It’s already 8:62!”
Just kidding. There are six sections. The display is HH:MM:SS. I took this at 06:25:15 PM.

That’s very cool. This may be a dumb question, but did they have LEDs back then? How did the edge kit display work? With this clock we have, the glass (maybe plastic, I’m not sure) pieces are close together and are lit with small LED.
Also, I saw your Nixie tube display in your car. That is amazing!

I've kept my bonsai green, but I have the frogs somewhere if I want to change it to pink.

We have them at Westfield Center in San Francisco. They’ve been there since the 90s.

My related mildly interesting escalator-related fact is that the word "escalate" in the sense of increasing rapidly or becoming more serious is a metaphorical back-formation from the word "escalator". Until the escalator was invented we just didn't have that word.

Just don't let it sit around because it absorbs water, so it's probably not the best choice for your lawn mower, tractor, or classic car.

My husband works 6 days a week, sometimes 70+ hours a week. He used to love going to Toys R Us on Sunday every once in a while to pick out a Lego like a little kid and build it during the day. It was really sad when the toys r us shut down in our city.

Wellllll I wouldn’t say it’s going STRONG in Canada; more like hanging on by a thread. Stores are closing more and more. The one in my city shut down two years ago :(

It’s what I love about legos. They could have made a new, unique part that looks like cherry blossoms. Instead they used a part they already had that somehow works perfectly
