Bad performances in amazing films

I just finished watching Kubrick’s ‘The Shining’ for the first time which as expected I thought was incredible. However, I thought Shelley Duvall was pretty terrible and I’m wondering if that’s a common opinion?

I obviously am much younger than this film so I’m not entirely sure. But it also made me wonder about other amazingly regarded films that had a bad performance in it, are there any notable ones?
