I thought he was going to be the next big thing when it comes to directors.
After District 9 (not seen this one), Elysuim (thought this was good) and Chappie (it was ok) - according to IMDB he only did short films for years until last year.
If he's got "sidelined" by Hollywood do you think its got anything to do the with concept art that he did for alien without the studio's permission, I heard they weren't too happy about that.
Edit - looks like a lot of people seem to have a hard time with me not seeing D9 and don't understand why I would post such a question without seeing it - the answer to that is easy, seen the trailers and clips, it didn't like the look of it, but the overwhelming view is that it's regarded as a good film.
