Self doubt/loathing, real and dark arguments between the protagonist and his lover, and of course a big helping of getting exactly what you asked for.
It’s a tragedy disguised as a comedy that leaves the audience with a lesson learned while keeping it (mostly) lighthearted.
The realization at the end makes the journey feel validated. Not to mention the acting chops of Carrey and Freeman.
Just a hilarious, sad, and ultimately wholesome film.
