I was watching Die Hard the other day and got to wondering - how did Hans Gruber recruit and hold together a skilled gang of people from such diverse backgrounds?
This is just based on context clues/subtitles but it looked like he had subordinates from Germany, US, and France so his reach would have to be pretty wide in criminal circles to have gotten them all on board with his plan.
I know a ton of hypotheticals pop up about 'how would you feel about x IP expansion into a spinoff' but I honestly would watch the hell out of a Hans Gruber origin story where he meets up with the key players in the Nakatomi hostage situation. Would be difficult to frame him as a main character as a future hostage taker and murderer but he's a really compelling character with a lot of back story not threshed out.
