So firstly, Alien and bladerunner are two of the most original films since ww2.
Alien has spawned so many sequels and properties, it easily outshines Terminator (get where I'm going with this?).
I know this is a controversial opinion here, but I really like Prometheus and Covenant. They're both flawed, but the expansion of the lore is incredibly unique and detailed. They do remove Aliens from the lore, but I'm happy to accept that given they also remove the whole alien Vs Predator thing.
Anyway, my dad died a couple of months ago, and he was "only" 76. Ridley is 85, and no big movie studio would give him another big directing roles.
But I hope he executive produces the shit out of the new alien movie and show.
