Tom Cruise/McQuarrie next film to be ‘gnarly, violent’ hard R - excited to discover how their Mission/Top Gun audience reacts to more adult Cruise.

So Part 3 of the McQ ‘Light The Fuse’ podcast just broadcast and with it a little tease of this project.

While not giving a title or details on the story McQ talks a little about how his next collaboration with Tom Cruise will be a ‘gnarly, adult and more violent movie’.

I personally cannot wait - he’s a brilliant filmmaker and their work together is some of the best of the last decade. I’ve missed the more adult performances of Cruise; Collateral, Magnolia, Born on the 4th July, Eyes Wide Shut etc so having him dip his toes in this again has me enormously excited.

Just imagine - a McQ/Tom Cruise style Die Hard.

I’d love to see this type of film really find an audience again for films like for this type of film, the same audience that John Wick has started to find.

Sadly could be a few years away, still loads to shoot on Mission 8 and then I guess TC still has that space film.
