The Big Short has been one of my favorite movies pretty much since it came out. I saw Margin Call more recently and found it an interesting counterpiece since it takes place from the bankers' perspective and occurs within a much shorter time frame.
Which got me thinking: could you watch The Big Short, pause it at a certain point, watch Margin Call, then finish The Big Short, and have it all work and make sense? (I know this isn't exactly like the Star Wars "machete order" thing, but that was the best comparison I could think of.) Not saying a four-hour marathon is super practical by any means, but it might be a fun alternate way to watch a couple of movies about the same thing.
Thing is, I'm not well-versed in the jargon espoused in either movie, so finding that aforementioned "certain point" is the reason for this post. If you're a fan of these movies and have some financial knowhow, where would you say that point is, assuming it exists? Hope this makes sense!
