I wonder why no one has been able to fully realize the books, which seem ideal for a blockbuster endeavor. There have been several attempts to adapt the book series to film but I don’t think anyone has ever fully completed the series. Of course the team that started with the 2005 film gave us a decent attempt but lost steam after the third book. It feels like an opportunity missed.
