Which movies do you love watching a classically-trained actor play a very much non-classical role?

Here are a few of mine:

  • Sir Alec Guinness as Obi Wan Kenobi in "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" (1977)
  • Terence Stamp as General Zod in "Superman 2" (1980)
  • Ving Rhames as Melvin in "Baby Boy" (2001). Ving Rhames actually has a BFA from Juilliard. That's how he learned to say "We have tha meats!" so well.
  • My all-time favorite: Raul Julia as M. Bison in "Street Fighter" (1994). Whatever they paid him was not enough.
