I really think BWP is as superb a drama as it is a fun horror, about Heather realizing she's gotten herself and her friends killed by something they can't possibly understand, and her performance is such a huge part of that.

The method camping-in-a-forest stuff can only get so much credit, the whole movie lives or dies on her central performance.

It would have been a lot more interesting as >!a cult rather than a supernatural Mr. Boogey. Also some of the other family killings just don't make sense because a child would not be able to physically pull them off.!<

But the buildup was great even if the ending felt deflated, and it had the 5th best jumpscare I've ever seen in a movie

It loses it about 2/3 of the way through and has the stupidest ending in a horror movie. Ooooo, the dude jumps in front of the camera. Dumb.

Also, the film implies there's this ancient, supernatural demon character running around carrying a video camera while murdering people. That's just hilarious.

Edit: Oh, wait. The kids are murdering people while carrying video cameras. That's less hilarious but not scary.

I in no way had any idea it was going to be two hours of hallway shots and whispering, my friend and I definitely went in expecting a traditional film and hated this. It's not that experimental film isn't great, but it's not our cup of tea and didn't expect it from a wideish release.

That said I was genuinely terrified for a large chunk of it, I left the theater feeling so tense that I was shaking. Unfortunately dark hallway shots and whispering really mess me up lol

So I guess it was the most boring experience I ever had while being genuinely scared.

biggest mistake i ever made at the movies.... back in the 70s I walked out of West Side Story after a few minutes... figured it would be a violent gang movie.... when the tough guys started singing and dancing, i thought 'this is whack' and left.

i missed out on a lot of magnificent music.

The worst Tarantino movie IMO, havent seen Once upon a time in hollywood, and not going to either.Hate it when people take real people, and twist history with something that never happened. that's why i don't like Inglorious bastards either.

Pulp Fiction, Reservoir dogs, Django unchained, Hateful eight are my favorite Tarantino movies

Kind of the opposite, but when my wife and I saw Crawl we were at least an hour in, a character was getting absolutely savaged by an alligator, when three teenagers walked into the (mostly empty) theater, walked up to our row, and told us we were in their seats. We argued with them that no, these were our seats and the movie was half over, when the first one asked "wait, isn't this Annabelle?"
