The wild thing is the literal President did a show with him in 2015, bringing a whole entourage and sharpshooters to Maron’s garage to record it, and then Maron went right on with the same format like that never happened.

Man... I am a little jealous. Experiencing Tarantino movies for the first time. Hopefully you decide to go through his entire catalog. Take the good with the bad. There is something to love about all his films.

True, that I think about it more so. I was thinking of obvious examples, but saw that OP wanted obscure examples. I better put my thinking cap on and think of more subtle ones.

What? No love for Stuntman Mike? That's a shame

It's incredible. It's like he makes it all so bizarre as a trick on the viewer. "This world is totally different than the one I live in." But then if you just describe it, it's a literal description of our world.
It feels (to me) like "satire" isn't the right word for it, but it's exactly the right word for it.

That's too bad. I thought Blair Witch was great and she did a terrific job.
It's too bad she's having some issues. I'm glad she seems to be a success these days.

Not just that. The Razzies even nominated her for it. Absolute lunacy. She nailed that despair so well.

Scream features a scene where Sidney is chased by Ghostface through Stu’s house. While Sidney is running from GF (Stu), there is a doll in the attic which bears a resemblance to Casey (Stu’s ex girlfriend who is killed early in the film). The doll is hung from the attic ceiling, much like Casey was gutted and hung from a tree outside her house. This is a very quick visual cue that Stu is one of the killers

I would say stay clear of Death Proof and Grindhouse. I am not sure I actually ever saw Grindhouse, but I know it is supposed to be in the same style as Death Proof and whilst I admire his love of cinema and his ambition it is not particularly good and also completely removed from all his other movies.

There's plenty of shots in Halloween (1978) where Michael is in the background of a shot and his mask illuminates his presence.
*Rosemary's Baby and Jacob's ladder have subtle background compositing of images if memory serves me correctly.
