There's a lot of theories that could fit. Ultimately I think an unaltered 2015 had to exist in order for the hoverboard technology to exist. The only way Doc could have altered the future would be if he made the techology available or known, and more than likely he'd have (somehow) built that train in secrecy to what it actually did, and he and clara visit timelines without disturbing them as much as possible.

Changing the future in the future never made sense anyways. If Doc was willing to go through all that to fix Marty's life, he'd have done him one better and just stopped him from racing and crashing into the rolls royce as a freebie.

Not Japanese, but HK had a run of amazing gangster movies with Chow Yun Fat in A Better Tomorrow 1 & 2, Hard Boiled, The Killer.

Okay but now I want to see a Yakuza movie that follows all the same plot points and story beats as Pulp Fiction, but the central conflict is a Yakuza boss taking care of business on his turf, while an assortment of clowns keeps fucking with his business.

I’ve been watching some of his movies lately.

In his earlier movies he was like a lovable loser or misfit or whatever. I watched one of he wrote himself at a sex god lol. In chuck and larry or whatever. Not all of his movies are like this obv, but it’s pretty funny. But not good funny really.

If it was on the Sci-Fi Channel, it was probably anime. My guess is Night on the Galactic Railroad, because that starred anthropomorphic talking cats: https://youtu.be/uOaNT5VXuEU

Or judging by the Cool World comparison, it could be a Hungarian movie from the 80s called Cat City, which I can’t find the English dub anywhere but trust me that there is one: https://youtu.be/NYRZOqCv2J8

Or possibly the 1971 American film Shinbone Alley. That also has cats and some risqué sexy stuff: https://youtu.be/tJUdojAevqY
