Everything you just said is objectively incorrect, at least of his movies

Emily Blunt doesn’t save anyone in Sicario…she fails to stop Alejandro from flat out executing a mother and her two small children in Mexico. She completely alienated her morals by signing the affidavit about it afterwards instead of eating the bullet

Chris Pine’s HOHW robbery plan gets two innocent bank customers and a Texas Ranger murdered because he involved his violent/sociopath brother in his scheme. He knows his is now the sole focus of a retired, widowed Ranger who would have probably shot him on site if his family didn’t pull up. Ensuring his children are wealthy doesn’t mean he isn’t also as big a shitbag as his brother was

Jeremy Renner and Liz Olsen couldn’t save any Tribal or state police from the security contractors, proving the theme that when outsiders mettle in Reservation Affairs it’s the Native Americans that pay the price. Wind River is still poverty stricken and Renner’s daughter’s murder is still unsolved, much like the many real world unsolved murders of Indigenous women in America

Jeremy Renner going on a killing spree and leaving Pete to die on the mountain doesn’t make him a white savior, it makes him a vigilante

I never really liked Garden State. Some of it is a bit too pretentious to me and that has plagued all of Zach Braffs movies and I have iffy opinions on how he funded his second movie, but you can tell right away Garden State is a movie that he poured his heart and soul into it. It has that raw feeling to it. I can appreciate his first two features for that. You can tell they're super personal pieces of work for him.

I'd heard similar but was wondering jownrjst wasn't he case. Apparently the last 4 Barsoom novels are from after 1928 buth the majority of the series should be in thr public domain now. I wonder if it's similar to thr Conan Doyalw estate being litigious over random elements like Sherlock "having emotions" diento the last few Sherlock stories still being outside thr Publix domain until this year

Yes, I've seen The Field. It's grand but not one of my favourite films. I think that the John B Keane play on which it's based is very good. I don't think there are lots of great examples of "period" films set in Ireland, but I haven't seen Black 47 and I heard that it's very good so I must check it out. (I still think that thinking of TBOI as primarily (?) a period film is fundamentally misguided by the way). I live in Ireland but not rural Ireland so I'm as familiar with rural Ireland as anyone else who lives in Ireland but not rural Ireland is. Answered all your questions now?
