Because you said you wanted zero to hero I wasn't sure Raya and the Last Dragon counted since Raya starts off as a warrior princess. If that fits what you are looking for then if you haven't seen it Brave would be of a similar vein.

I think the town is the only one of his I haven’t seen. I have heard nothing but good things though. He has the eye and the depth to his filmmaking though that is pretty amazing though I’m not a huge fan of his acting on a consistent basis. It’s odd that he’s a much better filmmaker than just an actor. He can write a screenplay but chat read and dissect a screenplay? Seems like one would go hand in hand with the other.

What a lovely story and so recognizable. I also saw IT at a young age and found it very scary. But these scenes, from Bill & Ted's, left me with that scary granny, the sergeant and that rabbit and the coming after. I was so scared that years after seeing this. I'm glad I can finally give it a place now too!

Canada has similar quotes and agreements with services. But this likely does explain why Canadian shows are more likely scripted content rather than reality. The infrastructure is there, American shows film there anyway etc... (and, I could be wrong, but I think for streaming at least, filmed in Canada but produced and owned elsewhere counts to quotas)

Afleck is top notch. Eastwood is the generation before as well as Kevin Costner. Favreau is solid for sure but the amount of depth is lacking in his film making. It depends on what you’re looking for but I don’t think it’s a challenge except the lack of films that Braff has made. He needs to get hooked up with a streaming service to get some stuff produced.

I love when the government decides I’m not virtuous enough with my watching/listening habits, so they feel they need to force change. Canada is notorious for having awful radio stations full of Justin Bieber, Avril Lavigne, and tons of shitty covers.

If you want to listen to African Music, or watch French Cinema, then I am not going to get offended and write letters to my representative.

I think the thing that aged the worst is Sam's lack of change over the course of the film. She's there to inspire change in Andrew, and that's it. That's the achilles heel of the flick that keeps it from being something more.

There's a reason that this film is pegged as being the prime example of the problem with the "manic pixie dram girl" trope.

Lol I don’t think he was a world class burger chef, I think the picture more represented his days when cooking actually brought him joy and accomplishment. He was proud of making that burger when he was young. No doubt it was good, but don’t think he won awards for it
