I really enjoyed the movie, just watched it this evening. Sure it's no Ex Machina, but still it was decent and thought provoking.

If anything my only grumble was that it felt a little rushed and over too soon. I'd have liked more development and a longer 2nd and 3rd act. There was much that was done well and it was one of those movies where it felt like almost not a single shot was unnecessary.

Same problem here. I love the idea, I loved Apollo Creed, I was hyped for this franchise... but the Adonis Creed character reminds me of Henry Cavill in the Superman movies. There just isn't much there. Apollo had charisma, envy, and a fun sense of theatricality. That's why this third one looks engaging, because the villain appears to be bringing that Apollo-style charisma and entertainment this time. In the other two, both Adonis and his opponents were just kind of vaguely "serious", so the matchups felt devoid of personality, like BvS.

I remember looking at my watch in the theater, saw it was at least an hour left, and muttered to myself "Fuck." Visually the movie was beautiful, but they absolutely could've cut at least 45 minutes.

But I think I'm just getting old because I believe a lot of recent movies are about 30-45 minutes too long.

Dude give me a break, MCU movies are essentially just cheap trash when it comes to characters and plot. They all follow the same general plot formula, and the characters are mostly just the same unfunny quip machines. The movies don't have any thematic depth to them, they are corny, and overall designed to appeal to kids and teenagers. Don't pretend that these movies are something they are not. They are silly movies about Superheroes fighting bad guys. There's nothing wrong with that if that's what you're into, but don't pretend it's high quality cinema.

Yeah, I saw that it comes out tomorrow. Have you seen it? I’m a Damien Chazelle fan, seen his other three movies, and like each one only slightly less than the one that came before, so I’m assuming the trend will continue?

I’ve got Decision to Leave on my list to watch. I’ve heard it’s really good.

I saw this in the theater and came away feeling the same way. Back when the first movie came out the CGI was like nothing we'd seen before, so he could have got away with a mediocre plot if he wanted - but the plot was actually pretty decent too.

The Way of Water just felt like the first movie all over again, just in the ocean. The same humans want to invade the same planet and fight the same aliens with the same weapons. The same bad guy fights the same good guy. It's a rehash with very little originality to differentiate it from the first.

My first year in College at Shreveport La I saw this movie when it came out.. You likely have no idea of Shreveport unless you are from the area or see the name whenever this is terrible storms coming out of Texas. Compounding things, I was not from Shreveport (a large unremarkable city)...I was from Natchitoches which is famous for Meat Pies and Steel Magnolias. To say that I was unprepared was understatement. Not that I was a rube, just I had to clue of the subject matter. My friends decided that this movie (which had tremendous buzz and an amazing cast) was to be the object of our Friday night boondoggle. I agreed since...hey who doesn't like a "war movie" (bastards) and they were told there was a twist.

To make this short...I was the dumbass that jumped up and yelled "oh shit!"...the entire and mean ENTIRE theatre turned to look at me. I am fairly certain the movie pause...

I didn't recover gracefully...I looked around...tried to sit down but ended up in a nice young ladies lap since I must have jumped...and then had to pop back up.

Good movie.
