Reply to What year did movies start to incorporate "post-credit" / "stinger" / "credit cookie" bonus scenes during/after the credits coming on? by Boston_Baked
I saw one of the Star Wars prequels in theaters when I was a teenager and my friend and I stayed through the end credits. We were sitting pretty close to the front. There wasn’t an end credits scene but after the screen went black we heard Darth Vader breathing. We looked around and we were the only people in the theater and his breathing was so loud! Terrifying.

It's not a question of whether there's anything bad in it but whether it meets the OP's criterion of being rated "12" or below by the British Board of Film Classification.
But Warm Bodies is indeed a 12, so great suggestion!

Where did I imply that there aren’t recurring themes or character beats? And what have they been doing for the last 4 years if “similar driving forces” haven’t materialized in any meaningful way yet?

Watching Laverne & Shirley was a wonderful part of my childhood.
Thank you Cindy

It's a 15 in the UK. Unfortunately, if this person's family are as strict about ratings as they say, they're not going to care that it's a pg-13 in the US, any more than a strict American parent will be assuaged by being told than an R-rated movie is a 12 in France, or whatever :)

I found this movie on a unlabeled vhs one day after HS when I was super high. It was this and Naussica and the valley of the wind. Both blew my mind. It was my first experience with animation that wasn't necessarily for kids. This movie has a really special place in my heart/memory!

I forgot about that movie. You made me look it up. That was another fun one.
Her and Goldie Hawn were my older women crushes back then.

Plague of the Zombies (1966) has good reviews (and is a 12), I haven't seen it myself though.

In regards to the party I can see that, if the original party wasn't also perverse. People were dying at that party. Sex in public. Excess in all its forms. Its just that Tobeys was more.... grim. Also from his frequent talk about getting into the movies its clear Tobey gangster man and his ugly party had no connection to the movie industry.
I take the point of Sidney leaving and thats it and I agree with it. Maybe its a personal thing. I found that scene alongside other scenes where 'racism isn't a thing' to be a little jarring. It makes me ask why the scene was put in in the first place. Sidney morals could have been challenged other ways. The same thing would have played out.

Very intriguing but…what the hell does “a great work of vision” actually mean?! I’ve been a paid movie critic for 11 years and have never heard that one before.

Reply to What are some horror movies that enjoy critical acclaim beyond the genre (i.e., are considered to be great movies overall, not just respected by horror fans)? by FeatheredVentilator
I'm surprised no one listed Copolla's Dracula or Brannagh's Frankenstein, Murneau's Nosferatu (well, all German horror from that period) and so many other classic monster films.
And then there's Rosemary's baby.

an action horror film that kind of combines elements of The 1988 Blob remake, Tremors. and The Poseidon Adventure. Has a lot of the adventurous wit that would characterize Stephen Sommer's The Mummy the following year. Treat William's character Finnegan even has a bit of a Rick O'Connell vibe

>It's just the same "adventure" in every single movie. Introduce new generic big bad guy, heroes get into cgi fight with big bad guy, heroes win, rinse and repeat. There is zero reason to follow these movies in order
This sounds more like you making an excuse for your inability to follow anything past a single movie. Sorry, that's your own fault, not anyone else's, especially not the MCU's.
Each movie might use the same three-act formula, but the characters change, and when characters change, the story changes. Which is again why I compare it to a TV series like Star Trek.
>Meanwhile 90% of the characters are just the same generic quip machine, there is not a single interesting character in the MCU
Every character looks one dimensional if you don't have the attention span to connect even just two movies together compared to when you do.
EDIT:
Literally your whole posting history (at least recently) is just you shitting on other people for the movies they like, and not just the MCU. I hope that you one day learn to enjoy a movie without putting others down.
