Reply to comment by Huevos___Rancheros in Guillermo del Toroâs Pinocchio (2022) by Huevos___Rancheros
Pinocchio didn't lie to save Geppetto and the others. He made a deal to be mortal so that he can quickly get back to save Geppetto and luckily save the others by activating the mine. Pinocchio and the others were in an unfavourable circumstance inside the sea monster but they weren't close to being dead.
An example I could give is you're in custody/jail waiting for trial vs you're moments away from getting the guillotine. Lying in the first circumstance is very different than the second.

Not really sure, maybe some kind of Purgatory thing for Pattinson's character? You should try checking out The Flannan Isle Lighthouse Mystery that it was semi-based off of, creepy shit.

I agree it's not for children. So many dead children in that movie.

I think the log may have been part of the sharp stick trap with a rope slung along the ground beneath the spikes that would with the weight of the log dropping pull the pred into the sharpend sticks above both trapping and wounding

Blame things like tiktok and social media, peoples attention spans are awful these days. This applies to all media tbh.

I agree, I was really bored for the first hour especially. It was a little more interesting after that, but not much.

Uh yeah, the entire point is that it's a badly disguised trap because he's expecting the Predator to notice and walk around, essentially using the Predator's arrogance against it. That was the plan.

What a weird place we are in the culture wars. People are the bad guys now for not watching things they don't like. I'm having a deja vu of all those newspapers that claimed millennials were killing industries by not living the way they were supposed to according to coked up industry analysts from the 80s.
I mean the first thing they cite here is a movie about a transphobic gay guy. Big fat shock that nobody wanted to watch it. The anti gay people don't like the gayness and the pro gay people don't like the transphobia. Hey let's make a movie that nobody will like and then blame woke culture when it bombs, that's how to do ratings now, right? Pretty sure the reason it's bombing has nothing to do with the director being Hispanic. It sounds like a movie someone based off a trolls feed on Twitter. Then they go on to mention some movie about pedophiles where none of the child actors were properly prepared or supported for what they would encounter on set, whatever that means. Oh sure, who would ever find that big brain production controversial.
This is why AI generated movies are gonna explode in the future. People aren't even trying to make good movies anymore. At this point why not just crunch all the masterpieces into a data set so the mindless drivel we churn out is at least watchable.

After hearing how hurt Sylvester was with the direction theyâre taking the series, I really have no interest in seeing it. Good luck to Michael B. Jordon though

Good movie, made cry like three time, which is not common at all, buuuut... In my opinion, the pacing was somewhat clunky and the song were not good enough.

Funniest of all? Maverick is nominated for best adapted screenplay. I mean, the movie is fine, but best adapted screenplay fine?
But it's weird Avatar would connect with 60 year olds since it's... too "woke" for them (their words not mine).

Itâs worth pointing out that the Brothers Grimm were more researchers than creative writers. The folk tales they wrote down were popular tales of the day, collected and recorded by the brothers.

Yer agreed it was frustrating in the end. The kids getting captured was basically the only thing driving the plot forward after Jake moved his family. Hell it happens like 3 or 4 times in the final act aloneđ.
I'm sure they could have easily got the water navi Queen captured instead just for variety.
Was glad one of them died to add some consequence to their repeated stupidity.
