I have never been to a film festival. I mostly watch sci fi, science documentaries and cartoons.
So really I guess my take on this stuff isn't relevant anyway lol

Was this the film thst he experimented with lived editing, like a performance, played at comicon that time?

This movie was just ok for me.. I wish I liked it more..
Like many others, I can see the care that went in to creating this but it just failed to captivate me like it seems to have for the majority.. I also found the character development to be dubious..
I won't be mad when it wins best animated feature and although I didn't hate it, I personally thought Marcel the Shell and Puss in Boots were both better nominees from the animated feature category alone.

Maybe instead of attacking the concept of representation in film, we should criticize lazy writing. White, straight and cisgender stories are allowed to be as bad as they are without accusing them of them forcing their "identity politics" on us but when it has a black, female or gay character, we blame the very fact that they are there for the film failing.
Having diversity/representation and having a great story are not mutually exclusive. In fact, I think the issue is that often these works are created by people who don't actually represent those communities and do not understand how those very communities do themselves want good stories that also include them in it.

Not mutually exclusive.
> The only cases when films by underrepresented people/about underrepresented people succeed is when their actual focus is to tell a great story.
They all try to be good. No one just casts a nonwhite actor and then stops trying.
> Regardless, this wave of wokeness shall pass sooner or later.
All of your favorite movies are woke as fuck. You didn't notice because you grew up with them so it seemed normal to you. They'd all be called woke if released today. Stop watching YouTube con artists trying to rile you up to get your clicks. This is not a real issue.

Reply to New Poster for 'Creed III' by MarvelsGrantMan136
Creed was the best possible ,,restart/reboot" in movie history. Cooglar, Jordan and Sly did amazing job on every single level. With the best possible music from Ludwig... It was the movie of the year, the greatest homage for all the fans of Rocky franchise. I still cannot decide whatever I love more Rocky, Rocky Balboa or Creed. But maybe that was it. They should have stop. Or at least for another ten years...
Creed 2 was the worst possible Rocky movie. It's even worse than Rocky V which is really bad movie. Creed 2 goes against all the principles of how Rocky movies should be structured. It miss all the opportunities to make it really great, stunning and emotional. Sometimes it even doesn't make any sense. It doesn't even have the cinematography of the first one, the feeling, depression or really moving music (hip-hop/rnb). It was really a disaster. (And now this director should restart the TF franchise... oh, good luck)
So now I think Creed 3 won't be worse than that. But everything suggest it will be a really mediocre movie, and I would love to be wrong. I will be more than happy if Jordan's debut will be a fire. But the trailer didn't convince me much. It looks just ,,I created a monster, now I need to beet him". But it's all too ,,black". I don't want to be rude or something. I love all the actors in it (like Jordan is my favourite, Tessa is fantastic and Jonathan looks like a future of movie industry), but Rocky's franchise was always about everyone... mostly black and white persons. In the latest trailer for Creed III, there are no white people... Rocky franchise is very popular in Europe, but this will flop here immidiately. My parents are huge fans of this whole franchise. They even go to the premiere of Creed and Creed II, but this one will miss.

Yeah that sounds great and all but in the real world bigots don't just magically change into better people. I mean if that's the movie people wanna watch that's fine. But clearly its not many people.

Slamdance just finished and had a good message before every film, essentially saying that some of the film's may be challenging but they don't apologise for them and expect you to do your research before viewing them.

And another mainstay of childhood in the ‘70’s gone. Laverne and Shirley was such a great show.
