Battle Beyond the Stars probably got made because of the success of Star Wars, but the story is a rip-off of Seven Samuri. Other movies that borrowed from Seven Samuri include
-The Magnificent Seven (and rides again)
-Bugs Life
Given how good some of these are and how poor Battle Beyond the Stars is, it depends on quality which is a rip-off and which are just remakes.

One of the best scenes in the film IMO. Absolutely chilling and tense.

Home Alone came out in 1990 but by all means is really an 80s movie. Decades tend to bleed over for a little while. I could make the argument that the 90s didn't really begin to identify itself until 93 or 94. And I could make the argument that the 90's officially ended in September of 2001.

The Stand. Two miniseries, and neither could get it quite right, with too much padding and talk and meandering. Granted, the book is itself padded and long, but surely they could reduce it down to an exciting and terrifying 2 hours.

You do see a photo of him posing on what appears to be the deck of the ship that picked him up. He is wearing a jumpsuit that matches what the crew is wearing. I always assumed that was the crew of the ship that picked him up.

Not as big as a snub as Sarah Jessica Parker instead of Bette Midler for Hocus Pocus 2.

Yeah Chucky got to me as a kid, even though the plot is bogus when you’re a kid you’re imagination focuses on the outcome not how it came to be. Pet Semetary as well. I want really exposed to Freddy and Jason till I was an adult. Jason is realistic as far as a slasher is much more likely to happen in real life.

idk why you’re downvoted.
Idgaf about what famous people did to get famous if they were assholes in everyday life.
Exceptions would be if they are famous for contributing to the human race by developing a vaccine against an awful disease or something.

The whole point of D&D is making your own stories, so I’m not sure why you’d want a movie at all, but if you’re gonna make a movie I’d sure like it to be about original characters, instead of having to hear about goddamn Drizz’t again.

Oh, for sure! And we'll have to see if fans are still willing to turn out for the film - my feeling is that the timing was real bad for it from a marketing standpoint. A lot of the fans who might have otherwise been willing to turn out for the film are now going to still have that bad taste in their mouth.

She was a wreck. Her entire life was flipped upside down. The husband knew she just needed more time to absorb what was going on. He probably figured Chuck needed more time as well. When Chuck arrives at her home later on we see all that time she spent going over Chucks journey. That was her coming to terms with the whole situation at least until a few minutes later when she kind of breaks but Chuck tells her it will be okay and to go back to her husband and child. She goes back to her adventure and he leaves to go on his new adventure.

Paizo certainly attempted to capitalize, but even with the "true colors" it's going to be really hard to unseat the big dog.

They did, but my sense is the damage has already been done. There's been a lot of "too late" and "shown their true colors" chatter in the TTRPG sphere.
