Yeah but then Corman also did death race 2000. Lol.

I mean Corman's movies still had great matte paintings and miniatures to create a sense of scale that they couldn't accomplish on such a low budget. Hell even look at the Fantastic Four 1994 movie, it's cheap, but it does the best job possible at trying to make a superhero movie on a $1 million budget. In fact, the Thing costume looks better in that than in the adaptations afterward haha

"marble hornets" is an early YouTube ARG with practically zero budget that used a combination of POV, conservative shaky cam, "Slenderman" camera distortions and basic CGI. (Fun fact, this series is also the origin of the modern Slenderman)
The result is one of the most compelling and interesting amateur films I've ever witnessed

Jaws. The use of suspenseful music and low budget anamatronics is done so well.

Ed wood didn't even hide it, neither did Rodger corman they relished their small budgets and made it their trademark.

I mean Eddie Murphy’s character was also a lazily written caricature of a pro-black black man who they also made into the primary antagonist. Seems like the insensitivity around portrayed identities goes both ways.

Do 10 min of season 1, trinity story, finish with Deb and the truth. Omit Harrison entirely. Just married with step kids

That is a great analysis. I wish more critiques were this in depth. So much better than vague praise.

It should have been 7 seconds instead of 10 seconds, you’re right. We can argue until the sun goes down about whether or not it should have been in the film, but there is no real benefit to overstating it like that.

Nausicaa needs an explanation about why it is included in a list of Ghibli films, but Castle of Cagliostro is not. Neither are Ghibli movies while both were directed by Miyazaki.

Del Toro has at least 20 unmade projects that I would kill for see. I wish he got to make The Hobbit movies as well.

>Hell, it would have worked better for Ender's Game because the book takes place over several years. Allowing the kids to grow up a little would work perfectly for the filming schedule.
All time, great sci-fi book(s). Never say never, still could happen, lots of IP material is being repackaged.

Yeah no I'm not taking offense, gotta be honest, I did just want to hear people out, then I woke up and I was sick and I get bored really fast at home, so this was just something to keep me busy, sorry if I harassed you or something, everyone can have their own opinion

Ah, probably true. It's been a while.
I do remember her trying to go in and being stopped though. She's crying and says something like "I got to see him" and the husband just puts her back in the car.
Could be a bad memory though.

It would seriously have to be like a 30 hour movie broken up into 10 three hour films or something close to that. I don’t think any human could possibly do that. Maybe we should let AI take a crack at it. Maybe it will be the thing that breaks AI lol.

David Fincher’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and his World War Z 2. Sure the first WWZ movie was different from the book, but I still liked it. But Fincher making the sequel would have been quite interesting. IIRC, he was adamant about having a $190mil budget but the studio wouldn’t sign off on it. Sure, he’d probably do a lot of takes but I doubt he’d use a dollar more (nor need to reshoot the whole 3rd act)

It still blows my mind Raimi was in his early 20s (around 20-21) when he directed the first Evil Dead movie. So much of that is so damn creative, natural born filmmaker
