I don't think that'd be a good path to go down given a lot of people despise Smith for what he did and wouldn't sympathise with his 'introspection'. And it'd take a heck of a brave filmmaker to take up that perspective.

Adam McKay writes and produces with Will Ferrell as Will Smith and John C Reilly as Chris Rock.

Because its god awful+ Sofia Coppola is the worst actress ever
I still laugh at that helicopter scene, the mafioso cliche like its a parody of gangster movies, the scene with Andy Garcia ridind a horse

IMO the movies you listed (especially Wings and Citizen Kane) do not need remakes, let alone shot-by-shot ones. As an example, the original Wings has amazing non-CGI practical effects (including using actual US soldiers as extras) and I doubt a modern remake could top that.
Similarly, with Citizen Kane, you literally have Orson Welles himself as the director and star. One of the all time greats of acting and one of those things you literally cannot equal/top. Ever.

I’m more interested to hear which critically acclaimed films you find unwatchable due to frame rates or colour saturation?

The Man who Tom Hanks played actually died from a heart attack while staying at an airport, was homeless at the time in Sep 2022.

There are various reasons:
- Money/Cost and time.
- Sometimes longer doesn't mean better, especially if the theatrical cut is what the director prefers.

Imagine the stress and introspection the moments after he just slapped the hist of the Oscars in front of a audience of 150 million. How do you cope with it?

Sounds more like trashy Lifetime material to me. With Cuba Gooding Jr. playing Smith, lol.

No they are not.
It doesn’t take a genius to be a low-effort scammer.

It would be about the public persona and the private one. The dichotomy of being a tough man in public and a mess in private

I didn't hate it, but it's a massive step down from the first two films, and nepotism really bit Coppola in the arse with his daughter's miscasting. I mostly felt like nothing in the film really needed to be said, the first two said it all. Great performances by Eli Wallach, Andy Garcia, Joe Mantegna, and Talia Shire though.

Think about it. A detail examination of a fading star with mental health issues with the whole world watching as he crumbles. A man that has become an island. Like The Wrestler or The Whale.

I was thinking a movie about an actor's decline as he joins a cult not unlike scientology that breaks him down slowly until an embarrassing rock bottom moment and jumps into obscurity. (think Requiem for a dream but what Scientology does to a person instead of hard drugs)
Or a movie about actors that pull off a hoax that inadvertently changes the entire world, either a harmless cherade done only to get them in the spotlight but instead spirals out of their control. (Like maybe in the style of the Deep Space 9 episode "In The Pale Moonlight")
Maybe I'm cynical but I am not even sure what happened with that other than a slap as I'm not into the Oscars or celebrity drama

I don't know about a 'great' movie, but I could see a trashy one being made, probably a made-for-TV movie or something more like it.

I usually hate that kind of movie, but it was really good.
Seeing Kevin James actually act was pretty neat, too.

I mean...he kinda fuckin nailed it in that movie.
Blew me away, anyway.
The last movie I had seen him in was when my kids watched Pixels for a goddamned year, so I kept having to double check that it was really him.

It's less about being happy that they bombed than being satisfied that someone wasn't rewarded for low-effort scammery when so many other people who deserve it are not recognised for their work.
It's not every case, definitely, but this case is one of them.
I don't believe in hating on a product just because I don't like it, though.
