In a state where the cops have done things like shoot and kill a woman who refused to pull over for them, and tasering an unarmed nonviolent drunk kid at a party (who literally fell off a bridge and ended up with a traumatic head injury) for trying to run away, I’m going to continue to question all situations like these where police officers use violence against us so we can all continue to work toward solutions that will save lives

/u/TheGrateKhan is right... don't get the idea you can just cross off whatever you've been paying in state taxes and think it'll go straight to the income side... you'll be in for some nasty surprises. Property taxes are no joke either, and you'll be paying them whether you rent or buy... you don't expect our parsimonious landlords to take them out of their profits, do you? And if you are going to rent do all the research you can... we have the great, the good, the Bad and the Absolutely Horrible up here so use yelp, tenants rights organizations, word of mouth and whatever you can network including word of mouth to winnow out the worst of the worst.

I use to live in Greenland for a few years and can tell you there is a TON of money out there in Greenland, Rye, Newington & Etc so if you are a nanny with good references I am sure you can find good work with people who commute down I95 to the Boston area or people who have so much money they don't even need to commute. You'll need to commute though... a lot of people who work in the area have to commute from Farmington and even farther away because housing in the area is unaffordable and unavailable. Good luck.

Manchester restaurant scene is so underrated. Campo will be missed but it was far from the best restaurant in the city, or even downtown. North End Bistro, Hooked/Ignite, Crown Tavern, Firefly, Industry East, and Birch on Elm when it reopens will all pick up the slack. The variety of food you can find downtown and scattered across the city is pretty amazing too. Nepalese, Indian, African, Colombian, Mediterranean, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, etc. I think Manchester is one of the few places in Northern New England that you can find authentic mexican food as well, like corn tortillas with nothing but meat, cilantro, onion, and maybe a side of salsa verde. The Shaskeen is also still a great place to enjoy drinks, live music, and more.
