I feel safe walking on Elm Street, and most redditors would probably consider me an old lady (although I don't!). It's generally bustling with activity and it's hard to imagine it striking fear into the hearts of so many people in this subreddit. I agree with the others who are saying there are sketchy areas, and for the most part you can tell them when you see them, but there also lots of safe, quiet neighborhoods in every direction.

Yes, Manchester has an excessive unhoused population. Individuals from all over the state and even neighboring states are sent to Manchester for assistance even though all the service providers in town are far beyond capacity. It's obnoxious and insensitive to the people in need. But this kind of thing is going on all over the country right now.

Places to check out: The Currier Museum, Dorrs Pond at Livingston Park, Boards & Brews, the Bookery, Dancing Lion Chocolate, the Foundry ... it kinda depends on your interests.

Pray the driver didn't get aggravated enough to take your plate down, call it in, and swear out the affidavit, since you missed all of the signs of a stopping bus (flashing amber lights and the slowing of a gigantic bright yellow bus at least, never mind the flashing reds which may well have been active before the sign flipped out). Outside cameras may not be usable because of the bus company/municipality relationship and the ban on the use of cameras for traffic enforcement.

The state's site says "Under 20" drivers can get the 20 day suspension for underage bonehead awards and you're 20 so you should be okay there. You can still get hit with 6 points (SAF-C-200), a $750 fine (RSA 265:54), and a rather unpleasant note from your insurance company (how many years to get your safe driver bonus back?).

Best bet is to pray you dont get a ticket. If you get a citation and go to court, explain yourself and hope they go easy on you.

If you realized that you messed up while it all was happening, you probably couldve pulled over, ran back to the bus window, and apologized to the driver.
But that requires time travel to do now.

You might try contacting the bus company for that school district and apologizing to someone there, but if the driver didnt report you and you tell on yourself you might walk right into trouble.

Well, she's not a governor, she's a mayor. She's also only been mayor since 2017 so about six years? Gatsas was mayor from 2009 until he lost to her in 2017 so he was in office for longer than she had been.

edit: I should probably clarify, she started her term in 2018, she was elected in November of 2017. She's still serving her second term and will be up for reelection again this year.

Wait, I'm wrong and my math is bad. It's three terms.

Hey man, for your sake, I hope you’ve learned your lesson and don’t get a citation. But please don’t do that again. Kids aren’t the safest and passing a stopped bus could really be dangerous for kids getting off the bus and running across the street.

Sounds like you’ve realized it and hopefully that’s the end of it. Good luck.

She's been fine in Manchester. She was dealt a bit of a shitty hand since Gatsas was a terrible mayor, and the homeless problem accelerated due to no fault of her own. She's also been left to tackle the school redistricting issue that Gatsas completely ignored while he was there. Manchester has a bit of a weird system where the Mayor is also head of the school board.

My parents live in Manchester and do a lot of volunteer work. They like her quite a bit.
