Ranked choice voting is the first step we have to take to get away from this two-party stranglehold on American politics.

People often have a hard time with change, but RCV isn't really hard to understand. In fact, we rank-choice things all the time: "I want ham, but if they don't have it, then turkey would be fine". "Chocolate is my first choice if they have it. If not, chocolate chip. I guess if they don't have either, I'll take vanilla"

It actually opens up our political choices, because you can vote for a third party candidate without feeling you've "wasted" your vote, or inadvertently helping a candidate you really oppose by siphoning a vote away from their opponent. I would love to see RCV everywhere.

I would call them and ask what their new customer deals are if they won't give it to you then cancel it and have a roommate or spouse call back to get the new customer special. Might lose internet for a day but it's worth

That's interesting, I didn't know that. I have had CC for the past 5 years or so. I switched from Comcast as they kept raising the price. It's been the same exact price for the past 5 years with CC which frankly is what keeps me with them. I hate that "promotional period" junk and then a massive price hike.

I didn’t see a DM, but if you post the specific work needed, or if you need suggested on what is needed that would help folks determine a contractor to suggest. (Ie. “looking to have a roof replaced, some rot fixed, flooring etc”)

In your position I am guessing you are looking to GC it yourself and contract subs or a handyman to perform the work directly as opposed to a GC who will manage the project, subs etc ?

At any rate, congratulations on the purchase and good luck with the project

For your own long term protection hire qualified people not “handymen”. Hire licensed electricians and plumbers, carpenters with good reputations. It will be worth it to pay now versus pay later. You’re close to Keene and Hillsboro, there are a lot of good qualified people in both areas.

If there is someone else living with you one trick is after the new customer promo period ends, cancel your service and switch it to the other persons name. This will allow you to have access to the new customer pricing again. You can do it over and over to always get the best price

We have Comcast at 200 MBPS for $50/month including fees and taxes. It's on a 2-year contract. We're in Merrimack but I have a friend in Nashua that has 400 MBPS for $50/month. We both call and demand the $50/month price every two years.
