The ropes are in reference to ops interest in mountaineering, Franconia ridge has no need for ropes. Herring!? That's quite the trail snack. I don't particularly care for most the trails because they all seem similar to me, my go to trails are welch dickey loop and caps ridge on mt Jefferson. Probably wouldn't be your girlfriends cup of tea as they're both pretty exposed.

Dude, the place to ask is local and not the internet. Get to know people who shoot, hang out at the local shops, competitions, bars, restaurants, town meetings, etc.

Those friends and acquaintances will be the helpful folks in your area instead of a bunch of randos spread throughout NH.

Furthermore, this is reddit, which is about as sketchy and anonymous as it can get and not be one of the chans. If you want internet help on items like this, the place to ask are forums or FB groups after being an actual participating member.

NH law is quite permissive when it comes to shooting on public land. The laws have been posted a gazillion times by me and others. RSAs 207:3A, 207:3c, and 644:13

So. My dad used to make us do Franconia ridge trail with only a gallon of water and a can of herring (I’m really not joking). I don’t remember any need for ropes has anything changed? My girlfriend and I have been meaning to Climb it for the last few summers but every time we get up to the whites there’s some issue and we tend to do easier hikes. I thought it would be a good one (Lafayette) for her because it’s not as open and bald like monadnock. This is all summer hiking btw.

I support this! This is as pretty as NH gets, everything else is photoshopped. I’m amazed you didn’t get any racists or ax murderers in the scene, as NH is rife with them. Not to mention the floating plagues that’s sweep through every day!

All flatlanders pay heed, NH is neither pretty nor safe, best to stay away.

The river was named after John Lamprey. There are Sea Lamprey that spawn in the river. The lamprey doesn’t feed while it is in the river. In fact spawning lamprey lose their teeth and eventually die after spawning. The juvenile lamprey migrate back to the sea. I have heard numerous people talk about their fear of lampreys.

I live on 50 acres of land and I still go to a gun club... because even with 50 acres, I will annoy my neighbors. It's something like $100 year. If you use it for 6 months, it's still probably cheaper than driving to Manchester.
