elephantine in portsmouth is my number one - i adore the owners and the pastries are killer. rise + grind in durham has the best bagel sandwiches imo. someone already said it, but colby’s in portsmouth is always a winner. la mulita in rye has great coffee and they serve bagels from rose foods in portland, which are some of the best in northern new england. roots in dover has very good vegan breakfast on the weekends. 7north in exeter makes great muffins.

The state will groom some popular trails (lincoln woods..) but unfortunately they get post holed by hikers and snow shoe-ers because I guess the ski tracks looks easier to walk in or something.

Most of the fire roads get groomed real well by sleds. The skiing is usually great esp if you have metal edges. You have to stay vigilant as those guys do like to go fast and are often drinking.

Mountain bike trails and any kind of flat or undulating open forests are great for xc skis.

What part of the state are you in?

It was snowing when i left for work, i drove south where it was raining. I was late because they lowered 93 to 45mph (though apparently 90% of us don't read the adjustable speed limit signs and passed me aggressively in the snow) and in rain-land there was a collision that blocked 3 out of 4 lanes. I need to stop working in rain-land so i can stay home when it snows. :(

Feels like the toast gets by on old reputation still. I don't like to be a big complainer when it comes to the service industry but the Bedford location gave me the worst breakfast experience of my life. I'll never go back, and I used to love going to the toast.
