Trees! We experienced an 8 day power outage when we lived in Tyngsboro MA and after that National Grid went around trimming a lot of trees and we rarely had any power outages after that. Now we live here in NH in an area with underground utilities and never have power outages. 🤷🏻♀️

Nice! Congrats! Good place for it! Going to be 52 here in RI during that time frame. If I want to see snow I'll drive to NH to see it which I won't because I don't like snow.

Lol 8,000 people in a 32 square mile town isn’t what I would call “very populated.” Nashua is about the same size area wise and is over 90,000.

I find it a little ridiculous that power outages are such a common thing around winter storms. You'd think the electrical grid would be built to withstand the normal climate it's being built in. This can't be an impossible problem to solve.

Taxes are a bitch after 15 hrs OT. We just worked 2x 16hr shifts with a 8hrs off in between. Working on a third tonight and another on Thursday night. Winter is finally here

As someone else mentioned, if you wanna see your electricity bill skyrocket because of distribution fees, by all means... There's a reason that rural areas (and not just in NH, all over the world) don't bury conduit. It's expensive as hell.

I would still consider this the best bang for the buck in The White Mountains. There will be some moderate difficulty no matter where you hike in The Whites, especially with any elevation, but this is certainly the best view you can get for a short moderate/easy hike that I have ever experienced.

Wilton or Lyndeborough. Lyndeborough is similar square mileage to Nashua, but only around 2000 people total... So you live very far away from your neighbors!

Can you define "near"? 10, 20, 50 miles?
