Well, their content policy does say "This policy does not impact goods that do not meet the ATF definition of firearms or ammunition" so I don't know. Most likely explanation is some reddit employee who has never even seen a gun in real life got confused and in a panic pressed every button on their dashboard.

I would suggest nobody takes this spectacularly incorrect opinion seriously.

There are not such loopholes in traffic laws - driving an unregistered vehicle will get you in trouble once a police officer notices that, regardless of what state the plates are from.

This is unfortunate, since the user had no way of knowing this was a violation, but it is highly unlikely that they will be able to contest that ban - as a private entity, Reddit can pretty much ban anyone and define the term "firearm" in ways that do not match the legal definition.

An unfortunate occurrence - thank you for sharing it so others are aware of Reddit's view on these matters.
